Metric: A Quick Guide
Most European countries use the metric system rather than inches. It needn't be a mystery. here's a quick guide to help you convert from inches to metric.

When converting running inches to yardages, the total number is divided by 36. usually the resulting number will contain a decimal. To convert the decimal into a fraction, simply refer to the following chart and select the corresponding fraction. For example: 233" ÷ 36" is 6.472". The next highest decimal equivalent of .472 is 5, therefore, the total yardage would be 6 1/2 yards.
